  • What common spaces are available?
    • Large formal lounge on top floor
    • Study lounges on each floor
    • Orton has a pool table, a ping pong table, a weight room, a vending room with an ice machine, a lobby TV, and a big screen TV with stadium seating.
    • Every floor has its own full kitchen with oven, microwave, refrigerator, microwave and sink. 

  • Is this hall accessible?

    Several rooms are wheelchair or hearing accessible. The hall is generally accessible via a ramp in the front entrance and via elevators.

  • Is there additional storage available?

    There is a moderate amount of storage available in the storage room on the ground floor.

    Bike racks are available on the west side of the building. There are no indoor rooms for bike storage.

  • What are furniture specifications?

    Beds

    • Bed frames are 85" L by 38" W
    • Mattresses are 80" L by 36" wide. Extra long sheets with deep pockets work best.
    • Bed risers can be used to gain extra storage space.
    • Beds cannot be lofted or bunked.
    • Depending on bed height, there can be 10-20" under the bed.

    Desks

    • 48"W x 24"D x 30"H. 
    • Movable filing cabinet that fits under the desk and is 16"W x 22"D x 25"H
    • Desks have a sliding keyboard drawer

    Dressers

    • 30"W x 24"D x 30"H including three drawers

    Shelves

    • Four movable shelves
    • 36"L x 12"D

    Fitting other furniture in the rooms is difficult, but possible. No storage exists in Orton for your furniture over the summer.

    • Rooms are 10'W x 16'8"L
    • Windows are 8'W x 4'H. 
    • Closet is 44.6"W x 23"D x 80"H. Another foot of storage space is available above the closet.
    • Each room has a full-length mirror on one closet door
    • Four double outlets
    • Rooms are carpeted
    • Microwaves are not permitted; a microfridge is provided.

  • What laundry facilities are available?

    One front-loading washer and one dryer are available on each floor. The cost is included in housing and dining fees.
