Break Housing
All halls stay open for breaks. Students returning to the halls in the spring have access to their room throughout academic year break periods. Students moving out of the halls at the end of fall semester are asked to move-out by 10:00 a.m. on the Saturday following finals. If a student needs additional accommodations (winter in Pullman can sometimes change travel plans!), they can work with the Residential Education Director of their hall.
Check the WSU Dining Services web site for the hours of operation of the dining halls over breaks.
Preparing to Leave for Breaks
To ensure our halls are safe and secure during breaks, please use this Residence Hall Closing Break Check List and comply with these items:
- Take precautions to protect plants and any other items that could be damaged by changes in room temperature.
- Check smoke detector. If battery is dead, take the old battery to the front desk to exchange for a new battery, or see your hall custodian.
- Close and lock your windows. Close your drapes.
- Take out your trash.
- Turn off all lights.
- Check to be sure that your door is locked and checklist is taped to door when you leave.
Residence Life staff will check all rooms to protect personal and university property, by noting compliance with this check list.
