Housing and Residential Life

Room Reapplication Process

Are you interested in returning to the residence halls for the 2020-2021 academic year? Then please read through this email for an outline and instructions of the Room Reapplication process. Reapply now at: https://www.housing.wsu.edu/housing-essentials/apply-for-housing/

Same Hall/Same Room (returning to the same room in the same hall):

  • You will be automatically assigned to your same room, and guaranteed that room, ONLY if you have completed your application by 5:00pm on Sunday, February 23rd and then selected the same hall/same room choice.
  • Failure to complete the application with this selection by the above deadline may result in your room being assigned to another resident for next year.

Same Hall/Different Room (returning to the same hall but requesting a different room):

  • If you choose to return to the same hall, but a different room, you need to complete the online application by 12:00pm/Noon on Monday, February 24th.
  • REDs will be in their office beginning at 8pm on February 24th to help you sign up for a different room. If you are unable to attend these office hours, please stop by my office or contact your RED via e-mail before the above date to discuss preferences.
  • Assignments will be given out by priority points first, and then application date. To complete the Priority Points form, you will need to log out of your application after completing it, log back in, and you will see the link to fill out your Priority Points form.

Different Hall/Different Room (moving to a different hall):

  • If you want to move to a different hall, you need to complete the online application by 12:00pm/Noon on Tuesday, February 25th.
  • The RED in your new hall will be in their office starting at 8pm that evening and will help you sign up for a different room.
  • If you are unable to attend these office hours, please contact the RED in your preferred new hall via e-mail prior to this date to discuss options and preferences.
  • Assignments will be given out by priority points first, and then application date. To complete the Priority Points form, you will need to log out of your application after completing it, log back in, and you will see the link to fill out your Priority Points form.

If you are unable to come in person to select your room, you may contact your current RED or the RED of the hall you are wanting to move into, and we will assign you to a room which we hope is most appropriate. You can find the emails and office phone numbers for all REDs here: https://www.housing.wsu.edu/about-housing/residence-life-staff/

Remember, the meal plan is optional for anyone with sophomore standing and above plus 1 year of attendance at WSU in Pullman. Those meeting the above criteria may live in any residence hall and choose meal plan optional. Anyone not meeting the above criteria can still choose meal plan optional, but only in the meal plan optional halls: the 19+ age restricted spaces in McEachern and Orton.

As you are considering what hall you would like to call home next year, you may utilize our rate estimator for a breakdown of prices for planning. Final rates for 2020-2021 will be available after the WSU Board of Regents meeting in March: https://www.housing.wsu.edu/housing-essentials/rate-estimator/
