Housing and Residence Life

rh1.jpg

WSU's residence halls are much more than a place to sleep; they're a place to live. They're a place to call home. You'll easily find fellow students studying, watching the latest sporting event or maybe having an ice cream party in the lounge. Making friends is easy too! In fact, friendships forged in the residence halls tend to last a lifetime!

Wondering about accessibility options?

Disabled students with special needs should contact the Access Center at 509-335-1566 to discuss housing arrangements.

Roommate Alert!

Most new students do not have a roommate chosen, so assignments are provided. The Housing and Dining Application asks students to answer questions that will help with assignment of both hall and roommates. To room together, students must request each other as roommates.

When requesting a roommate, your Residence Hall Housing Application must be filled out requesting the same priorities in hall choices and you must request each other or you may not be placed together.

Although we try to honor all mutual roommate requests, space does not permit us to fill all of them. Assignments are made in application date order, so we encourage students who wish to be roommates to apply at the same time.

Housing Rates

We strive to provide you with the greatest value in safe, clean and convenient housing and dining facilities in the Pullman community. Our Rate Estimator will give you an idea of housing and dining prices in the Residence Halls and rental rates for the University Apartments at Washington State University. This simple on-line form provides you with information about prices and payment schedules and allows you to make informed choices.

Another major decision affecting your experience at college is whether to purchase a campus dining plan. While most Residence Halls require the purchase of a dining plan, apartment living allows you to purchase a campus dining plan, prepare your own food within the apartment or make some other arrangement for meals.

Please contact us with any questions you may have regarding housing and dining. We want to provide you with what you need to help you make informed choices.

Changing Your Residence Hall

If you are currently living in a residence hall and wish to move to either another hall or another room, see your Residential Education Director. Once your request has been received, we will look on our waiting list to determine if other assignment changes are ahead of you and to determine space availability. If space is available, you will receive a hall transfer card authorizing your move. The new room will be assigned to you and you'll be given a date which you must complete the move by. You need to check-out properly from your current space, which involves turning in keys to your front desk and completing the room inventory agreement.

Failure to complete this process properly may result in charges to your account. If you have questions, please ask your Residential Education Director.
